1. What kind of entries can I submit?
We only accept entries that are related to MonoTouch, IPhone /IPod Touch development or topics that will prove useful to MonoTouch developers.
  2. What is the difference between using OpenID or signing up as a user?
OpenID eliminates the need for multiple usernames across different websites. We support OpenID login, which means if you have an account with Yahoo, AOL, Wordpress, Blogger, myOpenID etc you can login without registering. If you do not have any OpenID account, you can get one free from here. There is no difference between OpenID and signed up users, we treat both the same. However, some of the OpenID providers do not provide your email address which is required to get the complete set of benefits MonoTouch.Info has to offer(e.g. comment notification via email).
  3. What is a touch?
Touch refers to the popularity of an entry. It shows how much the MonoTouch.Info community likes an entry by the number of times they have clicked on the Touch It link (either to promote it to the community, associate it with their account for easy retrieval at a later date or both).
  4. What is user score? How does it calculate?
User score indicates the contribution of a user to the MonoTouch.Info site. Most user activity within MonoTouch.Info has an associated score:
    Activity Score
    Registration/OpenID 05.00
    Entry submitted 10.00
Entry appears on the front page 05.00

If a user's score falls below 0 the account will be automatically disabled.
  5. What are Top Movers & Top Leaders?
Top Movers are users who have earned the highest score in the last 24 hours and Top Leaders are users who have the highest score overall.
  6. How do entries get published? Why has my entry never been published?
Entries are published based upon votes aka touches, comments, freshness, views, user score (who voted it), source of entry etc. The more the entry has these values the greater the odds that it wil be published. Once the entries are published the top ten entries will be listed on the front page. The entry publishing process runs 4/5 times a day depending upon the upcoming entry queue.
  7. I am a blogger, how can I put the Touch It counter in my blog post?
The easiest way to get the counter html is from your submitted entry page, just go to that page, click the show counter code link, copy the html and put it in your blog post.
